I also send in older lens when I feel it is time. For example I just sent in a EF 100-400 4.5 -5.6 L IS and they replaced the Focus Ring Band, Ring Focus Rubber and Collar Eccentrics.

I did'nt there their was anything problems with my camera and lens, but when I got back everything I can for sure see there is a big different and sharper focus.
