Because the dirtbags who are doing home invasions in LA carry guns. Gang bangers with no care for human life. We have something called the 2nd Amendment here. It entitles me bear arms, which in a home defense scenario translates to protecting myself and my family. Notice how I didn't say property, because for that you call the cops once they leave.

I'm trained, professionally, as a police officer and by the military to handle it.

I live in an affluent neighborhood, in a nice house. Those homes are now being targeted by LA Gangs. I can assure you that if my home gets "Flocked", as they call it here in the Los Angeles area, the last thing some shit bag coming up the stairs with whatever he's carrying is going to hear is the rack of that shotgun and blinding light in his face.

Should that not deter him enough and he presents a clear and present danger to my family, and the use of deadly force is authorized to stop him/her, I will not hesitate for a second to send him home to whatever God he prays to in situations like that.

So, if you can answer a question, and it makes sense and doesn't get me killed, I will get rid of my gun.

What would you do if your home was invaded by gun wielding gang bangers, your wife is asleep, you see them coming with their arms up your stairs, and there is no where to escape to? What do you do in the next 2-5 seconds to save your life?
