Your aren't coming off as a dick. I will gladly share in this thread. I've actually even shared screenshots of things for proof in past.
So back to the topic at hand:
What's worked for me? Well, I'd have to say posting via twitter has definitely helped a bit, definitely enough to get a couple joins in the past and traffic but nothing major. The key to this one is some sort of automation I think which I've yet to really dive into.
The blog directories submission have helped get into search engines and boost initial traffic. Page rank has been noticed to increase but corrects itself once falling off page 1 of twans directories. I'm definitely great ful for his listings but occasionally his script drops some links for some reason. I haven't messed with many other directories yet.
The stumbleupon worked well before their interface change. I don't get views on every submission anymore. Some I get none.
I haven't tried fbook or any other social sites as I don't know if they are worth it.
As far as SE traffic is concerned I truly don't do any research at all. I buy a domain that has exact match of at least 50 a month and hope for the best. Am I doing something ever so wrong here?
I try to post good feedback when I can, truth is I just don't make enough to really carry weight in my results. As mentioned before I don't make enough to pay my rent with this even, but I try to make things work with this stuff and share when I can.
