I can dig that as my dogs are the same way. Got into a problem with them once when I needed emergency medical care and the techs could not get near me until the dog's attention had been diverted.. Dog would not let anyone near me until a cop who knew him showed up. Dog had held the EMTs at a distant bay for some time. They were actually thinking about shooting him so they could get to me. After that the dog was all about the cop, getting hugs and loves while the EMTs carted me off.
This dog weighs in at about 120 lbs (54 kg) and is nothing to fool around with if you are a bad guy.
From normal people he only wants his tummy rubbed and treats, preferably hot dogs cut into thin slices but he looks like The Hound of The Goddamned Baskervilles so most people are scared shitless of him.
