Most adult companies most certainly do NOT deal honestly with their affiliates. If that were truly the case it would not need to be said. But some are better than others and there are a few honest ones still.
My advice is to try them all out and be ready to switch out links in a couple moments if you have to. Watch out for the "welcome aboard!" surge and then the corresponding "time to get shaved" drop a few months later with some companies. If you feel there's funny business don't hesitate to try something else and remove links if it gets too bad. Don't be like some of the lazy affiliates who will leave links up even when the company converts 1:35,000 and earns them $5 a month. Ignore the ref link crap or the reps. They are just doing their job.
