if i was that dad i would ask my self if this is the right thing to do. Rather let the police handle him. I am sure he will have a law suit on his hand very soon. Plus this not something you do in front of your kid. And then there is the point of beating some one to death even if you don't intend too.
So American, just stupid. The police could handle this creep much better.
