Making a sizeable down payment on a nice place so they can have a small $800 a month mortgage is impressive. I'm not talking about those people. I'm talking about the people who brag about how they have big incomes but live in tiny, cheap places and drive 10 year old cars they paid off already. Its like a badge of honor. Unless they are giving away a bunch of that extra money to charity, they are just cheapskates and proud of it
