great success for a $500k domain: http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/gay.xxx
Whether .XXX succeeds or fails, I am certainly not "drinking the koolaide" ICM is handing out. My decision to invest in .XXX -- rightly or wrongly -- has been my own decision. I've never even seen any advertisements from the ICM registry beyond a notification from GoDaddy last year of the timeline for introducing the TLD. If there is propaganda out there, it isn't reaching me.

There definitely are benefits to .XXX in terms of branding. For example, I can own Benefits.xxx for a fraction of the cost of Benefits.com. It's also shorter than FriendsWithBenefits.com. Furthermore, Benefits.xxx is clearly differentiated as an adult-themed site from Benefits.com (which would probably deal with pensions and retirement plans). I'm fully prepared to acknowledge pro's and con's to the ICM Registry launch. But there ARE pro's -- not just con's. Which outweigh which is open to debate.
