It's great you like it and that is good and I imagine as a power user you can find all the controls, and do away with Metro etc.

metro is fine, just takes a few min to find the stuff I need. no big deal at all. I read email, I edit photography, I browse the internets, I do the books and make scheduals, and I listen to music... pretty sure I could play pc games if I wanted to...
win8 has not caused me any issues at all with any of this stuff and win8 on my hdv editing box has not caused any issue at all either...if all that isn't good enough for Nielson really have no idea what to say
