Sorry for your loss. I currently just have cats, but want to fence in my back yard before getting a dog again (I have a fairly big back yard - about an acre in itself). Talking with my mom just a couple of hours ago she suggested an Irish Setter - they're not the brightest, but they are handsome and very sweet. Again, sorry for your loss.
