TGPs aren't dead and will never be dead. At least not within the next decade. But they are declining. There is a reason all these TGPs are being sold lately. That's kind of deceiving though. It's not just TGPs it's the paysite affiliate. It's a combination of less sales and actually getting paid for a smaller amount of the sales you still generate as an affiliate. TGPs typically are affiliates to some degree.

The people selling aren't dumb. They know what they made per 1 million visitors and they compare it over time and see trends. If your traffic is declining and your $ per visitor is likewise decreasing it doesn't take a psychic to predict what will likely happen.

If you saw your revenue decrease in the last two years 40% and someone is offering you 1-3 years current revenue for your site then you are probably going to take it.
