You have a point Frank and you're probably right. There are a couple differences though. One is that most people hurt in our industry don't have millions in the bank. The second is that in our industry it's basically open season and a free-for-all. People don't even think twice before stealing porn whereas they do with software, music, or mainstream films because they know there's a slight chance they could be getting a letter from their ISP. Hell in our industry the thieves are the big players. You have businesses making a business of stealing from others in the industry. It's not quite the same as a consumer downloading an mp3 besides with the moral argument.

Actually legitimate affiliates have lost more than content producers. Content producers at least got some branding (lube) along with the revenue hit (the screw). Legitimate affiliates only got the screw as conversions went south. You have a point but think about what you are saying. Many of these affiliates will become pirates making things even worse for everyone. "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em" I'm truly shocked that more affiliates aren't turning to the dark side so to speak. What's happening now is that affiliates are essentially standing still and smiling while they get kicked in the balls. You have to wonder how long that will last.
