Sorry, I think you misunderstood. There is no need to follow those that have found you and followed you first. I agree.
However, seeking out like-minded users to follow will result in good organic followers. There is a 2,000 following limit, or a 110% limit; whichever is greater. So odds are you will be unfollowing them in the future anyhow, to make room for more. It's a quick way to build solid followers and make your twitter more appealing to those who look at it.
