UPDATE: The waiter got fired...
Quote:
A waiter at a California lounge who caused an outrage last week after labeling a trio of female customers as ‘fat girls’ on their receipt has been fired over the weekend, according to the establishment’s Facebook page.
Christine Duran, Christina Huerta and Isabel Robles were having a good time at the Chilly D's Sports Lounge and Cameo Club Casino in Stockton Thursday night, but when they asked for the check they couldn't believe their eyes.
'I got the bill, and I was like, why does the receipt say, "fat girls?"' Duran told News 10.
‘My family is embarrassed and we are holding a full staff meeting to re-train all of our remaining employees so that this never happens again. In no manner do we want to be associated with this type of behavior and it is devastating that one persons behavior has reflected on our family's establishment.
The manager of the restaurant added that he and his family would like to meet with the three women so that they could apologize to them in person for the traumatic experience.
‘I completely understand why they were hurt by what was written on their receipt and that type of treatment isn't tolerated. Also there will be no tolerance in the future, guaranteed,’ the post reads. ‘My hope is to heal our newly tarnished reputation so that everyone feels safe and welcome again.’

Those tears suggest a lawsuit is not far away.
I think the manager's response was proper, and the matter should be considered settled.
