I was a fat kid, but an athlete. No one knew about carbs then. When someone called me fat, I beat the shit out of them. Even though I was fat, it still hurt my feelings.

Not everybody who is and does get called fat on a daily basis is heading to an early grave... I'm technically "fat" but it is in no way affecting my health at all... Some people are just bigger, it's how it is.
Sad that years ago if you were fat you were considered a wealthy person and people looked up to you, being fat was a status symbol... Now you're ridiculed for your weight until you commit suicide and then ridiculed more saying "good, fatty was gonna die anyway"
Why not be the adult you are and just keep your mouth shut? So many kids would grow up healthier and lose their fat if encourage positively to lose weight and not ridiculed until they gave up on life.

The sad thing is that "calling it like it is" has been replaced everywhere with "what ever you do, don't hurt anyone's feelings" and everyone now lives in a little bubble of self delusion and denial because its not "politically correct" to point out the obvious anymore.

I am fat, yes.. don't deny it... I was a skinny child, I was put on medication that screwed up my metabolism which literally made me gain weight when eating because my metabolism didn't work right, even if I ate like a fat kid or a normal person... What am I supposed to do at 9 years old, start worrying that I'm getting fat and start exercising and lifting weights? Fuck no... That's not what's on the mind of a fucking 9 year olds mind.. And like good parents should be, mine were more worried about me being happy with myself than happy with what other people thought of me. So I got fat, above average weight, not harmful, just to someone who isn't overweight's eyes I am.
It wasn't until I was almost 25 did my metabolism start working properly again, and I lost 35 pounds without really doing much, yes I am working on losing more weight, I'm 27 now, but it's a matter of getting into the mindset. I am okay and comfortable with my current weight. Would I like to weigh less? Yes. But am I gonna die at 35 because of being fat? No... My doctors say I have a higher chance of being killed by a great white shark in the middle of the USA than I do of dying from being fat.
So am I supposed to just change everything about me just to please some ignorant fucktard who has a lack of intelligence that causes him to be rude and mean towards me and other bigger people?
Nah, because when you are out in public laughing at some guy who is fat and looking like an asshole, people see it and think you're a douchebag, all while at my size, I get random girls coming up to me, hugging me and say "you're like a big teddy bear".

Depending on how much lean muscle mass, thats not necessarily obese. However, the women in the video are morbidly obese and offended at being called "fat"
i'm 5'9", 230 and 19% body fat. I've went up to 270, i've been down to 175. I never once thought about being offended if someone said "dude, you're getting fat". I took it for what it was, cut back on my calories and got on the treadmill and started running and start changing up my workouts.
The USA is the fattest nation on the planet and preventable disease has crippled the entire healthcare system. You'll never see me saying "hey man, you're morbidly obese, but its ok, thats just your personal choice". It's a personal choice to be obese and people should accept the consequences of their choices, particularly when they affect everyone else as well.
We need to stop the shit.
We need to stop telling everyone they're perfect just how they are.
We need to stop giving out participation trophies and telling kids they're special.
We need to stop heading down this path of churning out narcissistic, self centered assholes and start telling people like it is.
And here's some food for thought on the idea of not hurting feelings.
Who excelled as a group more after high school?
The fat kids, the nerds, the social retards or the popular/cool kids?
The people who were least popular and had the lowest self esteem worked harder. The kids who were the star athletes, fucking the cheerleaders all peaked in high school... because all they knew was how awesome they are and then got out into a world they weren't prepared to deal with..

You can still tell someone you're overall concerned about their weight, and not be an asshole about it.
Good: Hey, I'm genuinely concerned about your weight, want some help or advice on losing weight? I go to the gym x times a week, you can come along if you'd like.

As someone who has to deal with this day in and day out and that hears every excuse and rationalization in the book, i will tell you that's about as effective as telling a heroin addict "hey, maybe you should stop heroin".
No one changes themselves until they want to change. All that however, has nothing to do with the individuals choice to be morbidly obese and unhealthy. At some point, an adult is supposed to act like an adult and take responsibility for their actions and decisions.
It shouldn't be a crime to say "you're fat" - when its a blatantly obvious fact. Tom Cruise is short. I seriously doubt he runs away and cries every time someone says "wow, i thought you'd be taller". No one has the power to hurt you unless you give them that power.
You want to know how many fat people get picked on for sincerely trying to lose weight in a gym? ~0-ish.
How many obese people get picked on in a restaurant after downing 3000 calories in a single sitting each day? probably quite a few.
Being obese is a choice.
Part of the consequence of that choice is being unhealthy and being looked at by society as an unhealthy, gluttonous person.
We shouldn't be looking at society and sending they message "hey man, be very careful not to let the morbidly obese women know she's morbidly obese"

I never said what they did was okay anywhere in my post, so Im not sure where youre gathering that from. All im saying is people who are obese like that and are a drain on our society and health care systems. You cant ask someone like that to get healthy and workout, they need to be forced either by the health care system or the gov't which is practically the same entity at this point.
