Saul was the interrogator and visitor for the 2 prisoners who offed themselves (razor blade and eyeglass lens). He also blew the answer to the question in his polygraph in Season 1 about slipping the razor blade to the prisoner, then quickly aborted his polygraph, took it again later and passed. Perhaps the writers want to leave some doubt re: his character.
