IMO, if we have natural disaster like Fukushima or another Katrina in the US this will cause an overdue domino effect. Although, I am prepared more then most I actually enjoy it because this all started from simply trading traffic. Basically a Hobby that turned profitable and well, it's fun.
Anyway, I've been selling the preparedness tangibles for over a year and recently noticed a cause for real concern in the last few months. The normal crazies taking a backseat to some highly intelligent people asking serious question with replies coming from forum lurkers with even more intelligent replies.
For instance a vary detailed report re-posted from a CDC document explaining fecal matter bacteria creates a host for deadly conditions due to simple hygiene issues. The report stated the body under stressful conditions produces more toxins that turns shit even deadlier in a bacteria form. Mentioning crap the size of your thumbnail could infect 300 gallons of drinking water and making a 50lb bag of rice deadly for children or the elderly. It's these types of concerning posts Ive been seeing a lot lately. A far cry from the usual, I can fix a compound fracture with an AK magazine, ranch dressing, and verses from the bible crap.
These people don't believe in apocalyptic anything. The financial, real estate, our debt, with the apocalyptic fervor spurred a lot of concerning questions that couldn't be answered by other levelheaded professionals. These people don't argue the type of guns or tools needed like old, instead real soccer-moms or white collar professionals brag about getting carry permits, shortwave radio licenses, or email alerts on bulk food bargains etc.
For me in an odd way it's kind of cool to watch people from different communities around the world help well, other strangers. They've even starting outing companies selling crap products as people in the medical field help with free health advice. Most don't care about your ethnicity or income level as the collective common goal is for all in society to understand you won't be alone and move forward whatever the adverse condition. That's it.
