I don't, at least I don't anymore. I completely agree with you, the "OMG Google dropped my 50% of my rankings" is excuses people uses to blame Google when they should be looking at themselves and how they built their site. There is always ways around Google and their updates. It's just how you choose to do it. If you put good content on your sites, your sites will rank no matter what updates google throws at you
. The last update was clearly aimed at those who used excessive link building to climb the ranks. Those are the people who saw their rankings and traffic drop after the update.
