If you pay for your car insurance and never have an accident, but i get hit by someone else who uses your insurance company who has only had their policy for 3 days... your money will be going to me. Same with medical insurance, if you pay that and never get sick or injured, and someone gets a new policy and needs to be hospitalized, your money will be paying for them.
