When they finally manage to give you a tracking number, it may be wrong. So try this:

Doubtless someone else will find this useful, but if you got econo ("UPS Basic") shipping from Tigerdirect.com and are having trouble getting your tracking number to work, this might help. On UPS's website, go to more options or enter the bogus tracking number, which should get you to a page where "Track by Reference" is an option. Select "Track by Reference", set the bubble thing to "Mail Innovations"
(that didn't work, I left it on PACKAGE), and put your shipping number followed by "0101" into the "Shipment Reference" field. It should look like Jxxxxxxx0101 where the x are other numbers. This might actually work, and mabye you'll at least find out what your real tracking number is. It's possible that "0101" may also be different, I noticed that it corresponded to the blue "Ship Level" box on my invoice. If it's different for you it may affect the Shipment Reference. Good Luck.
As it turned out.. The UPS tracking number on the tigerdirect website is missing one of the fucking characters.
