Why is that so wrong? They have a list and if your name is not on it they allow you to petition. She lives in a country that only uses the first name for most stuff and it denotes the sex. They don't have unisex names. It makes sense and is simple. The priest goofed up so undo the mistake don't make a huge deal out of it.
We have rules about names. Prince had that issue when he tried to be a symbol. The name needs to be approved in the USA also but we are a lot more liberal and the kid suffers not the parent who wanted to be original. I just met an Amari-yi. She will need to set a side a few minutes a day to explain her name to people. Yep, nothing ethnic or anything, grandma thought it was cool is all.
