We aren?t talking cars and babies here, dummy. The whole point of argument is government intervention. How stupid do you have to be to keep talking ?baby is not the same as car?. Ok fine, if you think its ok for government to tell you No you can?t have ?I am gay? or ?Poison Z? or what ever that guy had license plates its Ok with me.. But don?t tell me its so fucking different form them to say here?s list of 2000 Icelandic names, pick one. And no, you cant have name with letter C in it because we don?t have letter C in our alphabet.
And by reading this, it has nothing to do with government being so intrusive in someone?s lives but rather case of preserving Icelandic culture and its language

First names that have not been previously used in Iceland must be approved by the Icelandic Naming Committee (Icelandic: Mannanafnanefnd) before being used.[2] The criterion for acceptance of names is whether or not they can be easily incorporated into the Icelandic language. First, they must contain only letters found in the Icelandic alphabet and second, they
must be able to be declined (that is, modified according to their grammatical case).
