I believe in common sense.

I own an AR15 and love it - I am former US Marine - but I fail to understand why anyone needs it. You don't use it for target practice and you don't use it for hunting; It's only purpose is to quickly kill as many people as you can target. Common sense tells you it's not something the general public should have.

Gun laws that prevent mentally ill people from owning handguns is just plain smart.

Teacher shouldn't be armed. I'm not entirely against it, but I have a kid in grade school and you can plainly see that teachers are teachers for a reason - They aren't made out of the most sturdy stock and frankly I wouldn't trust my kid's Math teacher with a firearm. She's 95 lbs soaking wet and couldn't hurt a fly no less fire a handgun with the intent of shooting someone, even if it meant saving fifteen school kids. Armed guards aren't the solution either - there was armed guards at Columbine and that didn't change a thing. Use common sense here - one or two or three armed guards per school isn't enough to properly secure it, and by the point an armed guard is pulling out their firearm to respond it's already too late.
