If you are buying a Mac I also suggest you get the Mac Time Capsule. It's 802-11.n wifi station with a 2TB or 3TB hard drive built in, making for easy and fast backups.
If you want to add a second screen to your mac for an extended desktop you can do that too, but even cooler you can use a second mac as a second screen. This lets you use 2 computers independently (1 for rendering while keeping the other one fast for example), and both computers can use both screens if you want. This can even be done wirelessly but wired is better in this case.
