Internet activist. Everytime I hear the term I can not help but sneer.
  • I can just imagine Martin Luther King blogging about civil rights.
  • Or Gandhi sitting in a park using his Ipad to « facebook Like » social change.
  • Perhaps even Che Gueverra hacking Fox News in an attempt to bring down the gouvernement.

Call me old fashioned but someone has to say it some where and it might as well be here.
Democracy is out in the streets and freedom of speech is face to face.
  1. You can not take away someone's rights if they physically stand up to you...
  2. The only way to shut someone up that speaks out publically in public is to physically assault them and when the state does that they already lost the argument.

The filthiest 1960s hippie had more courage and common sense than any of these so called Internet activists.

On that note,
This Aaron Swartz was an idiot. He could have devoted his efforts to finding ways to get free medicine for children, free education or something that benefits the most beaten down of society. Instead he decided to champion finding legal loop holes so he could download movies and music. What a waste of a life...
