You can play with stats until your are blue in the face and try to twist them around to get your message across. In this case, this town is not really safe at all - it's HALF as safe as my town. At the very same, while you and your gun nut friends portray this as proof that mandatory gun laws work, the truth is this is part of a thirty year downward trend in lower crime stats.
Brett, use your hear here - Take a look at all of your neighbors and then imagine them armed. Half of them most likely should not be allowed to be home owners, no less have fire arms.

Well, yes. If .01% of all people on anti depressants go on mass murder rampages, frankly that's unacceptable - and we should stop handing out anti depressants altogether (although it's entirely possible that might increase mass murders we are trying to prevent). But either way mentally ill people are going to get their hands on firearms and kill other people, sometimes twenty school children at a time.
