not right. if you lose something and some one finds it and takes it home that is not stealing. if someone takes something from you, then that is stealing. if you leave it somewhere then that shows that you do not want it and then who ever has it owns it.
i dont feel bad when someone loses something they are irresponsible. if someone steals something then i feel bad because it wasn't their fault.
