I think he is in full damage control mode. There was talk about his sponsors suing him to get money back and other people who he attacked while defending himself against their accusations coming after him legally now that the truth is out.

I have a feeling he is hoping if he comes clean and apologizes some of those people will forgive him and not come after him.
