Whether you have a .38 for personal protection or an arsenal of automatic weapons will not protect you from the government if they decide to turn on the people.
The 2nd Amendment was written before drones, armored vehicles or any other form of modern lethal weaponry. Your AR15 or your musket will be equally meaningless if your government decides to turn on you.
Using the argument you need your personal pea shooter to defend yourself against a governmental, occupational oppressive regime to stand your ground in the so-called "gun-debate" is just playing into a false debate that profits nobody but the gun business. And the government. And the home intruders who just want to take your personal, physical possessions - not your life, unless you're stupid enough to risk you and your family's lives for some cash, cutlery and computer equipment.
If there really was an agenda to wipe you out, the government wouldn't give two pennies about the amount of hardware and ordinance you possessed.
The argument is really only that shooting off a few rounds at the range is fun. Few people ever get a chance to shoot a human over some personal goods, and even fewer actually ever get over killing somebody over anything.

You live in Canada.
Why do you not just STFU before the USA abandons your ignorant asses and closes the fucking border?
Go kill a moose or something, mkay?
Tap a Male tree.
For Chrissakes! You primitive people still adhere to kings and queens.
Your input does not count in the internal affiars of The United States of America.
