Hmmm wellll I don't think you can swap bill of rights factors around like some kind of puzzle, but your point is taken.
However, to use your analogy, I don't think we have to worry about the abrogation of the rights of the people to blast each other with porn, nor is possessing a lethal weapon a form of freedom of expression, religious belief or peacable bukake.
The point I was making was that the 2nd amendment's consideration that an armed populace would constitute a protective sheath or armed militia against potential oppressive government practices is passed due, expired, considering the forms of oppression available and used by governments nowadays...

But there are laws or regulations, such as minimum level hygiene in meat production, which don't take away freedoms... they just make sure the corporate juggernauts don't exploit or harm us to the advantage of their bottom lines.
Remember when Reagan de-regulated the meat industry and a lot of people got sick or died?
Does a law against murder or theft make you weaker or government stronger?

True! I just don't think that, outside the National Guard, the 2nd amendment really applies to the modern American Republic...
