The minority party is always obstructionists (if they are smart).
That's part of why the founding fathers made 3 branches of govt., so that a President couldn't act like a "king". But I don't think they ever foresaw parties voting in blocks like this.
Having two political parties always in power is what has fucked everything up.
There should be NO political party with a majority in the House or Senate. And every Senator or Representative should be voting according to what serves his constituency at home.
NOT party line voting to either say "yes" or "no" to everything the President wants.
It's supposed to be hard to pass new laws and legislation. The govt. should never be in a position to be so powerful that it needs to act quickly on anything except declaring war if we are attacked. (last time Congress declared war was 70 years ago...all the other wars we've been in have never been declared, and are probably illegal)
