I'm taking your advice to heart and trying to tone things down a bit. It's still a work in progress but I'm muting things down. I find it boring as hell cuz I love bright color and contrast but since I'm not my target audience muted it shall be

@Viper, you guessed right on wp, I'm trying to work with wp cache but it's not going very well so far. Everything you wrote above about load time was (incomprehensible) greek to me but that def is on my 'to do' list once I google every term used in your post

seriously, thanks everyone for taking the time to write. I'm still working on it, experimenting with different things whenever I get a spare moment, but it already looks way better thanks to what I've read here.
