OK, I technically didn't 'live' in Compton, but I lived within a block or so.
I ran a 36,000 square foot movie production studio, and adult nightclub, on E 16th Street.
Lots of people from Compton used to come to the club, and some became good friends. Hence how I quite often visited their houses in Compton, and despite being white, never felt threatened or unwelcome there.
