Nothing new there. That's a typical US style to deal with smaller and weaker countries. Remember Iraq?
Some people even believe the same "trick" was did to Afghanistan (9/11), but personally I'm not a conspiracy theorist. While the Iraqi WMD case falsification is a well-known fact.
