A friend of mine that was in the Marines said when he was stationed in the Philipines the base had a lot of monkey's around it and they would get aggressive and attack you or throw poo and/or rocks and sticks at you. He said when it was your turn to stand watch they gave you a nightstick called the monkey be good stick that you could use to club them if they got too aggressive.
