I'm pretty sure you're hanging around the wrong mainstream webmaster forums if that's news to someone.
I work mainly in mainstream nowdays and geotargeting is a given, ALL ads are geo targeted or atleast language targeted. Then again I work in europe, I presume there's not so much need for geo-targeting in the us/english speaking markets.
Retargeting, interest based targeting and various different dynamically created ads are some things we don't see in adult but which are every day life in mainstream.
