Wouldnt be much hassle to establish a delaware corporation, host content on a US server, run a proxy from your ISP to cloak your FTP to your US server (if that would even be a problem?), & suddenly you are back on the web, clean & serene. tell the tax man you do some computer consulting for US companies to set up EU websites, or any other banner of bullshit, because delaware has privacy protections that make it the cream of the tax dodging world.
