i looked up her record from her arrest. she is correct that they dropped charges but one line stands out:
10/14/2009 D001 CRIM AFF APP INDIGENT STATUS Determined to be Indigent - fee assessed. Form filed. The Public Defender is hereby appointed to the case listed above until relieved by the Court.
seems she didnt have any money. indigent.
