It's more likely that you got dinged for something else, these days the most common reason for lost ranks is over-optimized links from low value pages.. like from low quality link trades. Other reasons for sudden rank drops include losing a high value link that was giving you a boost or a high value link being devalued itself for whatever reason.. causing less value to pass through to your site.

The only reason I assumed it was the joint analytics account was because the drop happened within 3 days of adding the second site to it. But I could certainly see how I may be over-optimizing my anchor text with certain links as well. Thanks for the heads up
