I'm a Dem.
I voted for Obama.
I have a small arsenal at home (e.g., an FN SCAR-L, FN 5.7, Walther PPS, Ed Brown Kobra Carry 1911...you get the picture). I can't let all the right wingers have all the fun.
I'm not a "one issue" voter like many people. At the end of the day, the Dems don't have enough clout in the legislature or in the federal courts to do a whole lot IMHO. An AWB will likely get filibustered. The real issue is the state legislatures, but then the Supreme Court will eventually get involved, and it still leans right.
The bigger concern is, frankly, the private sector. Price gouging is completely insane. You can't find ammo anywhere, and when you do find it, it is priced at obscene levels. I stopped by Walmart a few days ago and they didn't have any .223, .308, .45 or 9mm ammo. It is just crazy. I bought my SCAR for $2,200 a few years ago. You can't find it for less than $5K now. Stores are selling crappy AR-15s for $2K+. People are panicking.
But the paranoia has its benefits. I bought Ruger after Obama was elected. Up 10% and they issued a HUGE dividend (9% or so).
