there was a story yesterday on NPR, it was related to a chinese immigrant who was at a pro gun rally. He was seriously affected by the tyranny by the police in china, the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 where friends of friends were killed by police.
He bailed and came to US, now a strong proponent of the right to own a gun.
The argument is that if a suppressor is coming to your home to harass you or worse, IF you have arms, and the suppressor knows you have arms, they will think twice about breaking down that door. Put yourself in the shoes of the soldier, going to someones home who you know is armed, yeah right a lot more balls required compared to going to someones house who has no guns... any suppressor will think twice about picking a fight against someone who fights back.
