My tennis club is located adjacent to a church and one day a group of teens started blaring some Christian rock music, which was not only distracting because it was loud, but because it really sucked.
So one of my buddies with a booming voice yells, "Jesus Christ turn that shit down, or at least put on some decent fucking music like Black Sabbath, goddamn it!!!" Did the trick.
Heart-warming tale...I generally see Christian rock or commercial religious music as just a crutch/gimmick for musicians that otherwise would never be able to build an audience following based upon their musical ability alone.
There are exceptions, and many mainstream artists create music which is obviously influenced by their religion/spirituality. Cat Stevens and Dan Peek (of America) were both great songwriters that walked away from pop music due to their religion.
