I honestly think our govt. sets it up for black folks to fail (not all, but the majority).
I remember watching Jessie Jackson back when he ran for President. And I'm telling you I was in shock at his intellect. Up until that point I had only seen him giving speeches and ranting.
But seeing him being interviewed and listening to what he had to say...he made me stop and think.
I remember he was talking about how local govt. set up young black people to kill each other.
He spoke about how in every black neighborhood there was a liquor store and a pawn shop on the corner. The perfect combination for violence.
He said that you just didn't see that in white neighborhoods.
And he was right.
I've seen it in my travels (as I'm sure most of you have too...except for fucking Richard)...most cities and towns are okay, but in a few of the major cities with large black populations (and now some Latino populations as well) it seems like the local govt. deliberately has the young men killing each other.
Maybe a way to keep them under "control"?
I wouldn't put anything past any politician.
