I am Canadian, and I live in Capital City of the country. Nearly impossible to get a job here unless you speak the minority french language. Even jobs like a Garbage Truck guy who throws trash into the back requires being fluent in English and french, reading, writing and speaking.. It's horrible.
That is why I got into the adult biz. I can't find any jobs here because I am automatically shut out due to the fact that I only speak the MAJORITY language.
Luckily, USA is truly a land of freedom and I am able to work for USA over the internet while residing in Canada.
Canada doesn't seem to want me, so I will quite happily contribute to helping the US economy.  |

The last time I looked for a job was in the late 80's. I was into computers and had become an easy expert at Novell Networking when I applied for a job at a bigshot company. They loved my resume and agreed to pay me what I wanted (I was cocky) and we shook hands. JUST before I walked out the door he says "oh by the way, Parlez-vous francais?"

Despite the fact that I was going to be working with Engineers in the US and the UK, and despite the fact that I was going to be working with some US imports, and despite the fact that he told me I was the best candidate he had interviewed since they started trying to hire someone for the position, I was denied the job because my french wasn't good enough.
At that moment I decided to give up completely and never even bother trying to work for another company. The SHIT that the Quebec government imposes on people and companies over language just to "protect Quebec culture" is insane. So I gave up job hunting and decided to work for myself. I've been doing it for 20 years now and its awesome.
