Once you find out you need to quickly register on your states (or similar gov.) Putative Fathers List. Without doing that, you can have your baby adopted away by the mother without even a legal ability to keep your child. You're not even allowed to see your own baby without her permission unless you register and secure some rights prior to birth. Guys don't know this shit and they should.
