I think it could be great for some low to mid volume sponsors to get away from all the bullshit in the industry from the processors and the CC companies. No more scrubbing. No more messages from CCbill to your customers telling them to call in about their triple anal paysite membership.
It could be great for affiliates too who are not dependent on sponsor content. Traditional affiliate paysite revenues are way down to the point where in many cases you could probably make more from donations or going to a membership model yourself or some sort of micro-transactions. Fuck sending 5,000 uniques to a sponsor (who has leaks, is shaving, on a scrubbing processor, etc) to make $12.95 in commission.
Hell, it's conceivable that bitcoins could even change the cam game. Why should models keep partnering with cam sites when they can buy a solution somewhere (or pay a small cut) and start accepting bitcoins? Especially if they know how to bring in their own customers. Instead of making 30-50% they would now get 90% and would retain control.
The problem is there are many people who will lose billions due to bitcoins if they catch on. This is why it's almost certain that the government will be called in to create problems.
