Which people? All people?
Who is it disregarding government secrets or the fact that secrets exist or that governments have shady histories?
Are all people here unaware that governments do things in the dark?
I feel this is common knowledge - yet you act as if it isn't. Isn't it common knowledge that governments do secret things and lie?
Are we all unaware that the CIA doesn't file weekly update with the LA Times or keep an up to date blog on covert ops all over the world?
You see, you have to rely on broad generalizations and because specificity opens yourself up to arguments and ideas which challenge your view of things... not the other way around.
Believing and continually attempting to reinforce the idea that "everyone" does something is a device you use to make you feel comfortable about your views and its how you reconcile your world view and defend the misguided certainty of your interpretation of reality.
A wise person is full of doubt and constantly challenging his own views. Something you and yours are wholly incapable of doing.
By the way, it doesn't take Sigmund Freud to understand your issue is with authority in general.... not "the US government" or any specific entity.
