Fernando Alonso, Mark Webber, Romain Grosjean, Nico Rosberg, Paul di Resta, Lewis Hamilton and Adrian Sutil rounded off the top 10 after 2 free practices.
Following the results of the Australian Grand Prix last weekend, Lotus’ Kimi Räikkönen leads the Drivers’ Championship points table with 25 points, followed by Fernando Alonso with 18 points and triple world champion Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing with 15 points.
In the Constructors’ Championship, Ferrari leads with 30 points, followed by Lotus on 26 points and Red Bull Racing on 23 points.
Despite failing to win the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, bookmakers William Hill have cut the odds of Vettel winning yet another F1 Drivers’ Championship from 13/8 to 6/4.
Alonso is the 5/2 second favourite, with current World Championship leader Raikkonen the 7/2 third favourite. Hamilton is 10/1 for the Drivers’ title.
The second of the nineteen Grand Prix races for open-wheel racing cars takes place this coming Sunday the 24th March in the in the magnificent Sepang circuit, Kuala Lumpur where Fernando Alonso will be defending his title from 2012.
