my vertical(last I measured it) was 35" in 9th grade.. I think it was a bit higher, as I could jump up onto those 3' boxes and I'd come down onto them rather than bending(like this guy did). I could dunk in 8th grade and put my hand inside the net in 7th(for some reason, couldn't dunk then though).
I was very, very flexible and did calf raises and other explosive leg workouts like crazy. now my vertical is probably only 15" though
It took a LOT of hard work - I started doing calf raises quite often when I was 8 years old.
