I can tell you from experience that I saw a small but steady bump in ratios when I removed cents completely from join forms (showing $29 instead of $29.00) and I also saw a rise in sales when I started charging $9 for a trial. Consumers have become VERY wary of 'dollar trials' so charging more seems to have actually encouraged greater confidence at the point of sale. I haven't tried 'showing what the price was before the discount' but that will likely be my next test.
